Well Then..

Although I have been out of the waitressing game for a few months now, I have plenty of stories to share.

My best friend works room service in a local hotel. One week a woman was staying there. This woman was sad, lonely and desperate to talk. She ordered room service for every meal throughout her stay. She began sharing too much information with my friend and his co workers when they would deliver food to her room. She told them she was staying there during her divorce. She was apparently a bit depressed as she would try to get the room service crew to drink with her and hang out. Well, one night my friend decided to do so because she told him it was her birthday.

He went up to her room after his shift. They had dinner and drinks and things turned sexual. My friend is 21, this woman 45. So, obviously he thought he was the luckiest sonofabitch in the world fulfilling is milf fantasies. He banged the old woman and left…..

This is true life. You meet some insane people while serving food….

Where to work now..

You know its a bad recession when as a server, you have a hard time finding a job. That should be the easiest place to find work…

So now the debate begins… Do I want to stay in this industry? At 21 years old, I have like 6 years experience already, but not by choice. Only because in America only restaurants hire teenagers. I am in college so that will be there. but are there even professional jobs that are entry level? Your expected to intern for a year with no pay? Well, I have no extra 30 hours a week to devote to free labor. So… I am going to be an entrepreneur  I guess…

Wish Me Luck!

Sick of being treated like shit…

Soooo I work (ed) for a restaurant owned by a small Italian family. The owner is basically 100 and the wife too. They are crazy and think they are better than everyone. So, I have dedicated this rant (my last for a little while until I am re-employed)  to restaurant owners who think they are better than their workers and their customers.

Take my work for example, the diner is ran by the old guy who inherited from his father. It has been in business for like over 6 decades and good for them. They are members of a country club and think that makes them 1st class citizens of the world. All I’ve heard for the past 2 summers  is how “elite” and “exclusive” the club is and how “expensive” and “upscale” it is. They think because they pay like $200 dollars a month per person to be in this ‘elite society’, that they are better than everyone…

Well NEWSFLASH no one give a fuck about your country club membership. No one in their right mind during this economy is going to throw away that money just to say they belong to a club. The food, golfing and what-not isn’t even included in the membership costs, so get the fuck over yourself and realize its not that cool.

One time while the boss lady was going off on how some “non-members” came in wearing beach clothes by the pool and  ”HOW DARE THEY disrespect the dress code”, I asked “oh, where is your club?” Her response was (in the bitchiest rudest tone you can imagine) “You can’t come there, its members only”.  Hmmm, well okay bitch. I didn’t want to anyways but thanks for proving how stuck up and retarded you are yet again.

Thats just an example of why I am happy they “let me go” yesterday. Just one of the many. The old man screaming and yelling at everyone about things they already know everyday because he forgets everything and is miserable is another. Or even the fact that the food sucks.

People pretend this place is soo great because all the lawyers in downtown go there for lunch. But it is not good, it is not “only the freshest” as the wife repeatedly claims. They shop at Restaurant Depot. That is not a fresh place filled with expensive meats and organic produce, its mass produced everything, cheap. The lawyers and young professionals go there solely with the hopes of bumping into the mayor or governor. They don’t go for the $8.55 meal of chicken parm, BOXED potato flakes and CANNED green beans. They certainly don’t go for the soup accompanied with crackers that are constantly thrown away because the mice got in there again and nibbled on all the packages. They go because their food is out in 10 mins. Which isn’t that hard considering they finish EVERYTHING in the microwave (after being prepped in the morning).

The customers hate the owners wife. I have been told by MANY so it makes me feel a little better about hating her too. The second someone walks away from her she is talking shit about them. She talks shit about me, the other server (whom I love) and every single devoted customer who goes through there.  The regular customers love me and will miss me. One even texted me yesterday to inform me that without me he didn’t get his dinner roll hahaaha. SO I don’t give a shit about losing my job. I just wish they’d read this so I can give them a big FUCK YOUUU from me, the low life server who doesn’t belong to their country club.

oh, PS a little over a year ago, the cook told me he found a dead mouse in the frialator. So much for your above average restaurant assholes.
